A consultation has been launched on plans to create a new learning resource base for pupils with additional learning needs.
Newport City Council is proposing to establish the class at Maesglas Primary School and is inviting feedback from the public until July 19.
The learning resource base would support children who require specialised education within a mainstream setting.
A consultation report will be compiled, taking into account all comments raised during the consultation period.
