A man has been fined following a mass brawl in Newport city centre that reportedly involved a large group and disrupted multiple venues.
The late-night disturbance on High Street has sparked fresh concerns over safety and policing in the area.
The incident took place in Newport city centre and erupted on High Street at around 9.30pm on Saturday, June 27.
It reportedly involved a large group of people and affected four nearby venues.
Samantha Dabb, landlady of Le Pub and a member of Newport’s Pubwatch scheme, said: "I’m completely at the end of my patience.
"Were you on Newport High Street at 9.30pm on Saturday?
"It affected four venues and involved a large number of people.
"I’m being told that police arrived within six minutes of being called and nothing was happening that they felt needed intervention, which simply isn't true.
"Gwent Police are completely and utterly negligent in the way the city centre is policed and I’ve had enough."
Ms Dabb has urged witnesses to come forward.
Gwent Police said officers responded to reports of a disturbance at around 9.30pm, spoke to those involved and reviewed CCTV footage.
A 28-year-old man from Bargoed was issued with a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN).

Councillor Jason Hughes, cabinet member for communities and sport, said: "PSPOs are an important tool in tackling anti-social behaviour.
"They allow our community safety team to take quick action against anyone found to be in breach of the order.
"Public consultations on the PSPO have shown that residents wanted the council to adopt these powers and use them to improve safety within the city centre.
"And that’s exactly what we’ve done here.
"This result shows the importance of effective partnership working between the council and police.
"We will continue to work together to make sure everyone feels safe and secure when visiting the city centre."
Ms Dabb described the brawl as part of a wider pattern of "downplayed" incidents and ongoing anti-social behaviour.
The force has previously said it is carrying out additional patrols in Newport city centre as part of Operation Krypton, aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour and improving public safety.
At present, 31 arrests have been made as part of the operation.
