From indie legends to acoustic duos, Gwent has a packed schedule of events to enjoy this weekend.
The Darling Buds + Dunkie hit Le Pub for a matinee show, with Newport’s indie favourites returning to promote their new album, “SameSun | Same Sky”. Expect old hits and fresh tracks. Dunkie bring their kaleidoscopic alt-indie sound, with their debut album Working to Design already a personal and professional triumph. Catch this energetic double bill at Le Pub, 14 High Street, Newport, on September 6 at 2.30pm.
Calon take to The Old Bridge End Inn in Pontnewydd, bringing their award-winning blend of original songs and acoustic covers with a Celtic twist. This husband and wife duo are twice winners of best duo by Wales Clubland Interfederation, known for their unique and powerful sound. See them at Commercial Street, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, on September 5 at 9pm.
The Dragonffli in Pontypool hosts The Martyrs, The Big Slouch, and Ben Roach for a night of live music. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 8.30pm, running into the early hours. Join the crowd at Dragonffli Records, Crumlin Street, Pontypool, from September 5 at 7pm to September 6 at 1am.
The Marc Davies Band play live at the Iron Duke in Pontypool, promising an afternoon of music at 132 Osborne Road. Head down on September 6 at 4pm.
