A469 near Tirphil - road reopens after medical emergency

A section of the A469 has reopened after a medical emergency on Tuesday afternoon, September 1.

The incident occurred on the A469 between Southend Terrace – Tirphil train station to Dan-y-graig at around 4.53pm. 

Gwent Police confirmed that the area had been cleared at 12,23am on Wednesday, September 3. 

The Welsh Ambulance Service Trust were also at the scene, and members of the public to avoid the area, and to use alternative routes for their journey. 

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "Emergency services are currently dealing with a medical emergency on A469 Southend Terrace - Tirphil train station to Dan-y-graig.

"The Welsh Ambulance Service Trust are at the scene.

"Please find an alternative route for your journey".

In a later statement issued at 12.23am, the spokesperson added: "The area has now been cleared. Thank you for your patience".
