An accountancy firm with an office in Abergavenny is celebrating helping more than 1,000 businesses across mid and west Wales.

Ashmole & Co is marking the milestone during National Payroll Week, which takes place from September 7 to 11.

Eirian Evans, HR and payroll manager at Ashmole & Co, said: "Our dedicated payroll service allows local companies to be relieved of the burden of administering their payroll.

"We are a local firm looking after the interests of local businesses.

"With Ashmole and Co managing VAT and payroll, local clients can concentrate on the core activities of their business."

Ashmole & Co has grown its payroll team from just one clerk a decade ago to a team of 14 across south and west Wales.

Services include payroll registration, advice, compliance, investigations, bureau service, and CIS contracts.

Lisa Matthews, a payroll officer who joined the team in 2024, is based in Swansea and manages a range of payroll schedules for clients.

She said the most rewarding part of her job is building client relationships and making payroll stress-free.

Ashmole & Co has been established since 1897 and operates from 13 offices, including Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Neath, and Llandeilo.
