A new artisan hot chocolate brand is combining comfort with storytelling, one mug at a time.
Cocoa Nofel has been launched by student nurse Nicola James and her husband Rhys from their home in Bridgend.
The luxury hot chocolate brand is inspired by Nicola’s love of classic literature and cosy reading moments.
Nicola James said: "I’ve always loved those cosy moments curled up with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate.
"But we found a lot of the supermarket brands of hot chocolate lacked that indulgent finish we were craving.
"I wanted hot chocolate that not only tasted amazing but was presented in beautiful packaging, and so we decided to craft our own."
The duo developed recipes using French Valrhona cocoa powder, natural flavours, and refined sugars.
They decided to launch the brand after receiving "overwhelming" feedback from friends.
Over the summer, Cocoa Nofel was showcased at the Vale County Show, with samples proving a big hit despite the 30 degree heat wave.
The couple now plan to attend more events, including the Readers and Rebels book convention at the ICC in Newport in May.
The range includes flavours such as Mr. Darcy (mocha), Emma (white chocolate raspberry ripple), and Treasure Island (toasted coconut).
