Nine people have been arrested after police raided multiple properties during an investigation into a class A drugs conspiracy.
The early-morning warrants were carried out by Gwent Police on Wednesday, September 2, at addresses in Croesyceiliog, New Inn, Newbridge and St Dials.
The operation forms part of Operation Arizona, an investigation into the conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin and crack cocaine.
PC Rhys Jones, the officer in the case from the serious and organised crime unit, said: "These warrants form part of Operation Arizona, an investigation into the conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin and crack cocaine.
"Our Organised Crime Unit is working tirelessly to identify and dismantle drug lines and organised crime groups who exploit vulnerable people and harm our communities through the supply of illegal drugs."
During the raids, officers seized mobile phones, a car, weapons, cash and a quantity of drugs.
Those arrested include a 27-year-old man from Newbridge, a 26-year-old woman from Pontypool, and three women from Cwmbran aged between 29 and 39.

Three 17-year-old boys—two from Cwmbran, one from Pontypool—were also arrested, along with another 17-year-old from Corby.
All nine individuals remain in police custody.
PC Jones thanked the public for their support and urged anyone with information to continue coming forward.
He said: "As our enquiries continue, I’d like to thank our communities for their support and ask anyone with information—no matter how small it may seem—to keep coming forward.
"These details are vital in allowing us to carry out warrants such as these ones and we will act on information, identify offenders and bring them into custody as demonstrated by our activity this morning."
