Newport woman pleads guilty to strangling another woman

A woman who has pleaded guilty to strangling another woman is due to be sentenced next month.

Kelly Jones, 44, of Leach Road, Bettws, Newport admitted intentional strangulation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The two offences were committed in the city between August 12 and October 19 last year.

Her case was adjourned at Cardiff Crown Court to Wednesday, October 7 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

The Recorder of Cardiff, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, granted Jones conditional bail.

The defendant was represented by Gareth Williams with Megan Hartson appearing for the prosecution.
