Energy regulator Ofgem is expanding its workforce to better serve Welsh-speaking communities.
Two new bilingual roles have been created to support the delivery of low-carbon energy schemes across Wales, helping ensure that Welsh speakers can access services in their preferred language.
Ceri Moggridge, Ofgem’s deputy director for operations, said: "As we continue to deliver important programmes that support clean energy across Wales, we want Welsh speakers to be able to engage with us in the language of their choice.
"These new roles are an important step in strengthening our Welsh-language capability and ensuring our services are accessible, inclusive and responsive to the communities we serve."
The new positions—a Welsh language customer service officer and a Welsh language case reviewer—will be based at Ofgem’s Cardiff office.
The office has grown from just four staff in 2021 to 187 in 2026.
The customer service officer will support scheme participants and stakeholders, while the case reviewer will assess applications and evidence.
