The Dragons opened their pre-season account with a convincing 81-12 victory over Hartpury at Rodney Parade.
Filo Tiatia's side ran in 13 tries in total, with six coming in the first half as scrum half Morgan Lloyd scoring twice alongside tries from Anzelo Tu'itavuki, David Richards, Jac Lloyd and Barny Langton-Cryer.
And while replacements were brought on for both teams ahead of the second half, there was still seven tries from the home side with scores from Rhodri Williams, Levi Douglas and Elliot Dee, with Brogan Leary and Ereatara Enari grabbing two tries each.
Tongan international Tu'itavuki opened the scoring after five minutes after an attacking move saw Joe Westwood combine with Huw Anderson who broke through midfield before linking up with scrum half Lloyd.
Lloyd put a grubber kick into the far corner, with the ball bouncing up kindly for Tu'itavuki to score on his first Dragons appearance.
After setting up the first try, scrum half Lloyd scored the second when he charged down a kick from Hartpury fly-half Harrison James and regathered to score unopposed, with Dragons outside half Jac Lloyd adding the conversion to give his side a 12-0 lead.
The errors continued for the visitors as James' pass was intercepted by outside centre Westwood in the build up to a third try in the opening 20 minutes after a neat offload from Tu'itavuki put wing David Richards through, with scrum half Lloyd supporting on the inside before beating the tackle of fullback Brad Denty to score.
Arguably the pick of the first half tries came from Richards after 22 minutes as he received the ball from his own half before breaking through the Hartpury defence and rounding the final defender to score in the corner.
A breakaway try in the 30th minute saw fly-half Lloyd cross in the corner after the attack started inside the Dragons 22 with replacement Rhodri Wiliams linking up well with try scorer Lloyd in the build up after a break from Tu'itavuki.
Lock Barny Langton-Cryer crossed over from short range a few minutes before halftime to give the Dragons a 38-0 lead.
Both teams brought on replacements in typical pre-season fashion after the interval as Hartpury did cross for their first points of the friendly after 43 minutes after they managed to find some territory inside the Dragons 22 after a couple of penalties before burrowing over from short range.
But the scores for the home side continued with fly-half Lloyd starting an attack following a clearing kick and some nice handling between Elliot Dee and Jared Rosser saw Rhodri Williams cross in the corner.
Levi Douglas powered through for an eighth try after breaking through the defensive line on the edge of the 22 metre line and was able to beat the covering defender to score, only to be forced off with an injury a few minutes later which will be a concern for Dragons supporters.
Hartpury's Alex Gibson dotted down from short range after a line break from Dan Bartlett on the hour mark before the Dragons turned to the rolling maul with Dee scoring in the corner a few minutes later.
Youngster Brogan Leary pounced after some useful counter rucking in the final quarter following a line break and chip ahead from Harry Rees-Weldon.
With wing Tu'itavuki scoring in the first half, there was time for another Dragons signing to score in the final 10 minutes after scrum half Ereatara Enari was on hand to support Rosser after the home side had worked the blindside to good affect.
Enari was on hand to score his second moments later after a break from Rees-Weldon who did well to offload while being tackled to find the Samoan international.
With the game coming to a close, centre Leary scored his second try after cutting a neat angle from short range, with the conversion from Harri Ford bringing up 80 points for the home side in a useful pre-season encounter in the Newport sun.
