A new Aldi store is set to open in Newport next month.
The supermarket will open on October 22 at 28 East Retail Park in Maesglas, between The Food Warehouse and Halfords, and is one of 16 new Aldi stores planned across the UK as part of the retailer’s goal to reach 1,500 locations nationwide.

Aldi increased pay rates for store colleagues earlier this year, following a £42 million investment in pay, with starting rates now at £13.50 per hour nationally, rising to £14.47 based on length of service.
The new Newport branch will join existing Aldi stores in Cwmbran, Blackwood, Ebbw Vale, Caldicot, and Abergavenny.
Other new stores will open in Watford, Hoxton in London, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, and Balsall Common in the West Midlands.
The Newport store will join a busy retail park that already includes B&M, Halfords, Sports Direct, and Topps Tiles.
Aldi continues to expand its presence in Gwent as part of its UK-wide growth strategy.
