A Newport cleaning company is taking its services to new heights with the launch of a drone-powered cleaning solution.
Bell Cleaning has secured SORA approval from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), allowing it to operate its specialist cleaning drone for high-level external cleaning.
The approval follows more than nine months of planning, applications, and development.
The new service offers a safer, faster, and often more cost-effective alternative to traditional high-access methods such as abseiling and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).
Steve Baker, managing director at Bell Cleaning, said: "Achieving our SORA approval is a huge milestone for Bell Cleaning and something our team has worked incredibly hard towards over the last nine months.
"We have invested significantly in developing this service because we believe drone technology has the potential to transform the way high-level external cleaning is delivered."
Drone cleaning reduces the need for operatives to work at height, improving safety while also cutting mobilisation and set-up times.
Mr Baker said: "Reducing the need for operatives to work at height is a major safety benefit, but the technology also gives us an opportunity to complete certain projects considerably faster and with less disruption and expense for our clients.
"Receiving approval from the CAA means we can now take the service to market, and we are incredibly excited to demonstrate what the technology can achieve."
The drones are designed to clean windows, cladding, façades, and other external surfaces on buildings that are difficult to access.
This technology is particularly suited for high-rise and multi-storey properties, including commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, universities, warehouses, and shopping centres.
