A man has been charged following a reported burglary at a commercial property on Cardiff Road in Newport on Saturday, September 12.
Rory Hiscox, 33, of Chepstow Road, Newport, was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling, criminal damage, theft from a shop, and two counts of breaking/likely to break bail conditions.
He appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 15, where he was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear in court again on Monday, September 21.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "Gwent Police officers investigating a reported burglary at a commercial address on Cardiff Road, Newport, on Saturday 12 September arrested a 33-year-old man.
"The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling, criminal damage, theft from a shop, and two counts of breaking/likely to break bail conditions.
"Rory Hiscox, of Chepstow Road, Newport, was charged with these offences and appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 15 September.
"Hiscox was remanded into custody to re-appear at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Monday 21 September".
Hiscox appeared at Newport Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 11, following a burglary at a commercial property on East Dock Road on Wednesday, September 9.
He was also charged with four counts of theft from a shop on Caerleon Road, with the alleged offences taking place between Saturday, August 29, and Wednesday, September 9.
Hiscox was released on conditional court bail, before committing another burglary the next day.
