Ellie Taylor is taking over as a BBC Radio 2 presenter this autumn.

The comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant will temporarily replace Emma Willis on her Saturday lunchtime slot while Willis co-hosts the dance show.

Ms Taylor, who appeared on Strictly in 2022 and was paired with professional dancer Johannes Radebe, will begin her Radio 2 stint on September 26, coinciding with the first live episode of this year’s Strictly series.

She said: "I cannot wait to be back at Radio 2 and am thrilled to be looking after Emma’s Saturday show while she waltzes off to Strictly.

"I always have so much fun with the Radio 2 listeners, who can expect plenty of great tunes, guests and surprises from me, but most importantly a lot of fun."

Emma Willis will present her final show before the Strictly season begins this Saturday, and will be joined by judge Anton Du Beke from 1pm to 3pm.

Helen Thomas, head of Radio 2, said: "I’m so pleased Ellie will be joining us throughout the autumn and winter – it is always such a joy to hear her on Radio 2.

"Her warmth and laughter will be a great addition to our superstar Saturday line-up, whilst Emma sashays over to the Strictly ballroom."

Ms Taylor will also begin her new role as presenter of the BBC Two show It Takes Two on September 28, replacing Janette Manrara and Fleur East.

Ms Willis will make her debut as one of the main hosts of Strictly’s Saturday night show alongside fellow newcomers Josh Widdecombe and Johannes Radebe.

How much do the Strictly hosts get paid?

No information has been officially released on what the Strictly hosts are being paid or whether they are being paid the same figure.

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly earned an estimated £150,000 for each series they hosted, according to The Express.

Due to being new hosts of Strictly Come Dancing, it is possible the three hosts will be earning less than that figure for an entire series.
