The operation involved Gwent Police’s Roads Policing and Dog Section, with support from the National Police Air Service (NPAS).
A spokesperson for Gwent Police's Roads Policing & Dog Section said: "We had eyes in the sky and paws on the ground.
"PD Lando had only just started his shift when he was called upon to assist RPSO in locating a cloned vehicle linked to a series of burglaries.
"Thanks to the keen eye of NPAS 47 overhead, the vehicle was quickly located and monitored.
"PD Lando's chauffeur then took the suspect vehicle by surprise with a stinger deployment, causing the tyres to deflate.
"It wasn't long before the vehicle came to a stop, and the driver was swiftly arrested.
"The passenger, however, decided to put his trainers to the test in a freshly ploughed field.
"Unfortunately for him, with NPAS 47 tracking his every move from above and PD Lando in pursuit on the ground, his bid for freedom was short-lived.
"He was soon caught and placed in handcuffs.
"PD Lando wasn't finished there. After NPAS identified the area where the suspect had discarded items, PD Lando conducted a search and successfully located two vital pieces of evidence.
