A bird caused a flap on the M4, prompting a warning to be issued to motorists.

The bird was spotted wandering on the hard shoulder at a junction on the motorway on Friday.

This led to Traffic Wales issuing a warning for drivers, urging them to take care and keep an eye out for their "new traffic officer".

Posting a picture of the bird, Traffic Wales quipped: "We’ve had reports of a new traffic officer on the M4 today.

"No uniform, no training, just winging it.

"Please give our feathered friend space and take extra care if travelling in the area."
