Thanks to the Argus for allowing me to use this week’s column to talk about our annual charity day, which takes place on Thursday March 6.
It’s our "Bring A Pound To Work" appeal and this year we’ll be trying to raise as much money as possible for Childline Cymru/Wales.
Childline is one of those charities that most of us know a little about.
We know vaguely why it’s there and we remember who established it and that’s probably about it.
It’s only when you do a little research as we’ve been doing for our appeal that the range and breadth of help they can provide becomes clear.
They deal with calls from children and young people on a huge range of subjects from physical and sexual abuse to bullying, family problems, teenage pregnancy and suicide amongst others.
Childline also provide a listening ear for those who may want to talk about problems that friends or other family members are experiencing.
Every day around 300 children call Childline Cymru/Wales, sadly because of lack of funds only just over half of them can be answered.
This is where we come in. We would love your support with this year’s appeal and it couldn’t be simpler.
All you have to do is go to work on the day (which you’d probably do anyway), and take a pound. As giving to charity goes it doesn’t get much easier.
To register you can call 0845 05 111 06, e-mail bringapound@realradiofm.com or find out everything you need to know at www.realradiofm.com.
It’s one call; one pound but it could make a lifetime of difference.
