The Pike fishing commenced on the 3rd September, with weekly sessions (Monday and Tuesday only) running until the end of October.

Cefn Mably Lakes. On the match Lake Bob Giles (Blackwood) had carp for 74-08 on pole and pellets from peg 20. Peter Meese (Barry) 62-08. Anthony O'Reilly (Cardiff) 61-10. On Sunday Peter Meese (Barry) 78-12 carp on feeder and hair rigged corn fished to the island from peg 12. Stan Crowley (Cardiff Nomads) 59-13 Howard Green (Green's Tackle) 58-08.

It has been a very busy week at the fishery. Many first time visitors found the fishery to their liking with good bags recorded. Paul Taylor from Pontypool had 17 carp to 10 lb plus tench to 3 lb and 60 roach & rudd. Phillips parker carp to 9 lb. Martin Wakefield 14 to 11 lb, James Bridgeman 20 to 16 lb. The best fish of the week went to John Rowland a 18 lb 8 oz mirror plus 9 other carp and silver fish. Most baits are working on pole or ledger.
