VOLUNTEERS who run Gwent Cats Protection were disappointed with the lack of support at an adoption session at Abergavenny ambulance hall.
Only two of the 12 cats and kittens, ranging in age from a few months to 10 years old, were given new homes.
“It was a very disappointing session,” said the group’s publicity officer, Loretta Kedward. “There is no doubt that the economic crisis and the holiday period have had an effect. We are at the end of our tether.”
As a result of the poor response, 10 cats have had to be returned to their foster homes.
