POLICE are appealing for information after a 54-year-old man suffered serious head injuries falling from his bike.
The man, from Newport, was cycling along Bridge Street in Newport, at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, when a car drove past him.
Although he was not hit by the vehicle, the way in which the car was being driven caused him to lose control of the bike and fall.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital. A police spokeswoman said he was in a “serious, but not life threatening” condition.
The car, described as dark in colour, drove off in the direction of Godfrey Road.
Anyone with information should call 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
