THE driver of a car that was killed in an accident on the Heads of the Valleys road on Wednesday afternoon was yesterday named as Andreas Eul.
The 44-year-old from Brynmawr was driving a white Ford Escort when it collided with a lorry half a mile south of the Conoco roundabout at Brynmawr on the A465 at 4pm.
South Wales Fire and rescue Service were on scene for three hours but a spokesman was unable to comment on whether the driver had to be cut free.
Gwent Police's collision investigation team were on site following the crash and debris could be seen along the carriageway.
The road was closed for hours as the site was cleared up.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 01633 642404.
