TRIBUTES are being paid by family and friends of the men who died in the devastating car accident at the weekend.

Scott Harding 25, his 27-year-old brother Warren, Andrew Brooks, 30, and 26-year-old Geraint Hill died when the Toyota Corolla they were travelling in, overturned on the coast road between St Brides and Duffryn, Newport. The car overturned in a four-foot deep reen at the side of the road. Their bodies were recovered on Sunday morning.

They were all from Risca and were on a night fishing trip to the Lighthouse near St Brides.

Three of the men had children - including Mr Brooks. Scott Harding had a five-year-old daughter called Tyla and his brother Warren had two sons, Louis and Jacques aged two and five.

The family of 26-year-old Geraint Hill, who is a former pupil of Bassaleg Secondary School, have paid tribute in a statement released through Gwent police.

It says: "Well known in the Risca community, Geraint was an all-round sportsman who enjoyed watching as well as taking part. He was very much loved by all his family and friends and will be sorely missed by his parents and younger sister. He leaves a void that will never be filled."

A neighbour of Warren Harding, who attended Ty Isaf Infants and Risca Primary school along with his brother Scott, paid tribute to him.

Doreen Morgan lived next door to Warren Harding for seven years in Springfield Road, Risca.

Mrs Morgan, 82, said: "He was a very nice lad, very sociable. He was the kind of neighbour who would help you out if you needed anything." The family spokesman, speaking at Scott Harding's home in Hill Street, Risca, said: "We have got nothing to say at this time."
