TREDEGAR House and Park is one of the architectural wonders of Wales and one of the most significant late- 17th-century houses in the whole of the British Isles.

Set in 90 acres of award-winning gardens and parkland, it is one of the finest examples of restoration architecture in Wales, and was the ancestral home of the Morgans, later Lords Tredegar for more than 500 years.

With more than 30 restored rooms, including glittering state rooms, visitors to the house can discover what life was like for those above and below stairs.

Lakeside walks, beautiful walled gardens, an orangery, a spectacular stable block designed to reflect the splendour of the house, gift shop and visitor centre, tearooms and craft workshops complete the country house picture.

There is no better time to visit the house for a guided tour than May and June.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for those two months adult admission is reduced from £5.40 to only £2.00, and children go free when accompanied by a paying adult.

There are six tours a day to choose from, 11.30,12.30,1.30, 2.30, 3.30 and 4pm, and take about an hour and a quarter, you will find out lots of local history and plenty about the important and wealthy Morgan family. The park is open throughout the year from dawn to dusk.

The house opens seasonally from Easter to the end of September, with the tearooms, gift shop and visitor centre open at the same times as the house.

So if visiting Tredegar House has been one of those things you have always meant to do but never got around to, now is the time!
