ONE of Britain's fastest rising new bands, The Glitterati, have added a last-minute Welsh show to their current UK tour.

The sleazy retro rockers will play Swansea's Escape Club on Wednesday, May 11.

Then on Monday, May 23, they follow their debut album with a new single, Heartbreaker.

Their eponymous album was released last month to great acclaim. With it, the four piece from Leeds set-out to re-establish rock'n'rollers as people not to take home to meet your mum.

Absent are tales of macrobiotic diets, Kaballah and family cars. Present are sordid tales of debauched backstage escapades, overdoses and group sex.

It was recorded with the producer Mike Clint who was behind one of the most controversial records of all time Appetite For Destruction by Guns n'Roses.

Like all good rock music, it's even better live. At each gig the band arrive on stage in a cloud of hairspray and smoke through which they swagger and sneer.

Two years of incessant touring with bands from The Kings Of Leon to Jet has taught them how to behave on stage and behind it. They clearly love every unrestrained second of every performance.
