EBBW Vale bid to maintain their end-of-season winning run and to become only the second side this season to gain the double over Llanelli when they clash at Stradey Park tonight.

The Welsh Cup finalists have only been beaten twice by near neighbours Swansea this season, even Welsh Premier Division champions elect Neath and defending champions Newport failing to do that.

Now Ebbw Vale bid to emulate the All Whites, hoping Llanelli, who have slipped down the table from second spot at one time, may have their minds elsewhere after reaching the Konica-Minolta Cup final with victory over Bridgend on Sunday.

"It has been nice to get back into the flow in recent games and to play the kind of rugby we like to play," said Vale team manager Alun Harries.

"We have tried to play entertaining rugby all season and though we slipped after Christmas maybe ensuring our Premier Division safety has enable us to relax a bit in the last few matches.

"Everyone is capable of beating everyone else in this division on any given day and you never know what might happen at Llanelli."

Vale, like many clubs, are currently in the process of contractual negotiations with players for next season.

"It's an on-going process," said Harries, "so in that respect all the players should be out to prove themselves."

Vale, who have scored 126 points in grabbing successive victories over relegated clubs Newbridge, Llanharan and Caerphilly, again make rota changes tonight while they also include front row pair Wayne Morgan and Damien Caswell on permit from Chepstow and Brynmawr, respectively.
