RENAULT F1 Team's spectacular start to the 2005 Formula One season was further enhanced in Bahrain at the weekend with Fernando Alonso's second consecutive win and the third win in three races for the team. Victory in Bahrain also made history for Renault bringing the manufacturer its 100th win for a Renault engine in Formula One. Renault celebrates the historic milestone 26 years on from its first Formula One win in 1979 when Jean-Pierre Jabouille won the French Grand Prix at Dijon.

Since then Renault has secured six Constructors' World Championships, and five Drivers' World Championships - five of those titles under Williams-Renault and one under Benetton-Renault. Now, in 2005, three years after it re-entered F1 as a manufacturer, Renault F1 Team leads the Constructors' Championship with an impressive tally of 36 points on the board.

The team also leads the Drivers' Championship with the first ever Spaniard to lead the Drivers' title chase and youngest-ever Grand Prix winner, Fernando Alonso, having scored 26 points so far to remain at the top. Team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella, who gave Renault F1 Team its first win of the Formula One season in Australia is currently in third place in the Drivers' Championship.

The Formula One World Championship continues on April 24 at Imola for the San Marino Grand Prix and both Renault and Renault F1 Team will be hoping for even more success and to maintain its winning streak in the first European race of the season.
