RODNEY Parade stalwart prop Rod Snow makes his final league appearance tomorrow night in Newport Gwent Dragons' home Celtic League clash against Connacht.

Snow has acquired cult status during his ten years at Rodney Parade with Newport and the Dragons and his formidable figure and fearless runs will be missed when he packs rugby in completely next month.

Despite the Dragons' poor form which has resulted in three successive defeats, Snow deserves a bumper crowd as he brings the curtain down on a colourful career.

Whether he makes another appearance at Rodney Parade in a competitive match - his testimonial game is on May 21 - depends on how the Dragons perform tomorrow.

If they beat their Irish opponents with a bonus point Snow and the Dragons will definitely be at home one more time this season having booked a Celtic Cup quarter-final there on the weekend of April 29-May 1.

They will still make it with a straight victory if Llanelli Scarlets lose or draw with Ulster at Ravenhill tonight.

But if the Dragons lose they could, depending on the weekend results, end up at Stradey Park, in Scotland against Edinburgh or Glasgow or in Ireland against Leinster or Munster for their quarter-final, hardly mouth-watering prospects given their current form.

The Dragons are not the only side keen to win, for Cardiff Blues will be watching closely. Even if the Blues beat Borders tonight they will miss out on even a Heineken Cup play-off place as well as a Celtic Cup quarter-final if the Dragons lose, while Connacht need to win to have a chance of a Heineken Cup play-off.

Chris Anthony returns at tight head prop in the only other change from the side well beaten in Edinburgh last week.

Wales captain Michael Owen has recovered from a knee injury which forced him off at half-time against the Scots, but Gareth Cooper has again failed to make it.

He hasn't played for the Dragons since January 22 because of international commitments and a damaged ankle which he is not likely to risk again this season for fear of jeopardising his British Lions place.

Dragons team: K Morgan, G Wyatt, P Montgomery, J Bryant, B Breeze, C Sweeney, G Baber, R Snow, S Jones, C Anthony, I Gough, L Charteris, J Ringer, M Owen, J Forster (captain). Replacement to be named. Kick off 5.30pm.
