SOME women would have been mortified to find someone else wearing the same coat as them at a public event.

But a Newport teacher and Welsh diva Charlotte Church, took it in their stride.

Teresa Winter, a teacher at St Mary's RC Primary School, met the starlet after they both attended Mass at St Mary's Church, Newport, last Saturday.

The service was the ordination of Richard Reardon who had been working as a deacon in Charlotte's parish. Worshippers then moved on to celebrate the ordination at the King's Hotel, where Mrs Winter made her sartorial discovery.

"Charlotte came down to attend the service because she knew her deacon was going to be there", said friend Judith Evans.

"We all went to the King's Hotel for the function, and it was only then we realised that their coats were the same."

Charlotte, a fashion icon, happily agreed to pose for a photo. "I had my phone with me, and Charlotte agreed to let me take a photo. She was a good sport, and didn't seem to mind."

The double-breasted overcoat, was bought in Marks and Spencer by Mrs Winter over a year ago. A spokesperson for the chain said they were "delighted" with Charlotte's choice of coat.
