A WEALTH of recruitment, careers, training and education opportunities are on offer at Job Scene The Roadshow, presented by the South Wales Argus, on Thursday.

Open from 10.30am to 7pm at Newport Centre, the free entry event should not be missed by those considering their future.

Adecco, Army Careers, Barkers, Dial, Fitness First, HSBC General Insurance, Kelly Services, Monmouthshire county council, Newport city council, Office Angels, Office For National Statistics, Reed Employment, Rem-ploy Interwork, Select Appointments, Work Communications, Westaff and the Welsh Development Agency are just some of the top names lined up.

"Free advice clinics are provided by experts to ensure that every visitor is armed with all the tools they need to decide their future direction," said Nina Hurst-Jones, exhibition manager for organisers TJW Exhibitions.

"Each visitor has the opportunity to leave the event with a new job, course and renewed confidence."

Training providers and educational establishments, such as University of Wales Newport, Coleg Gwent, University of Southampton school of nursing and midwifery, the Teacher Training Agency and the Open University, will ensure visitors get the information they need.

Interactive demonstrations throughout the day include science experiments, free massages, as well as hairdressing/beauty and fun with the National Football Academy presenting a truly interactive, colourful and informative event.

Over 2,300 people visited the event in 2004. They included career changers, the unemployed, returners to work, school, college and university leavers all looking for entry level to professional appointments, full/part-time, temporary and permanent positions.
