MARK Hughes' men enter the Three Lions' den today and must tap into the burning passion of an entire nation if they are to stun England and write their names in the history books.

They must run into the cauldron of Old Trafford with bucket-loads of self-belief and a hunger for glory such as they have never felt before.

Hundreds of thousands will be glued to televisions in homes, pubs and clubs up and down the country, united in the desire to see Wales upset the odds.

All week Wales have been written off. The English media are more concerned about Michael Owen's form at Real Madrid, or Rio Ferdinand's ban to worry about a Celtic triumph in the Theatre of Dreams.

But it just might happen.

Wales' critics would do well to remember the visit of Italy to the Millennium Stadium. And Mike England's first game in charge against the Old Enemy in 1981 at the Racecourse Ground.

England are not unbeatable.

Gary Speed and his team can send a nation into ecstasy and take another step towards the World Cup finals.

Bydd ein dydd yn ddod - our day will come. Maybe. Just maybe it's today.
