CALDICOT Castle will provide the setting for a weekend of Medieval entertainment.

This weekend there are three days to enjoy an event that will bring alive the splendour and pageantry of the medieval period.

The day out is a day for the whole family with ongoing entertainment and a chance to meet knights in shining armour and dukes and squires. If you want a taste of history or a step back in time for a look at life in Medieval period, then a day out Caldicot Castle this weekend will be a must.

If you want to listen to the music, watch the dance or find out about anything from armour to ladies costumes there will be the chance this weekend.

The show is presented by Lion Rampant and visitors can expect to see archery, juggling, dancing, singing, music, performance of a Medieval story and a grand tournament.

The Lion Rampant Medieval Display Society adopt a character from history and they look into their lives and try to bring them to life during the shows.

The day is mixture of entertainment, education and the more genteel way of life shown through music and dance.

There will be jugglers ready to amaze with juggling skills, the performance of a play incorporating murder, mystery and mayhem, a longbow competition accompanied by a detailed history of archery. The day climaxes with the clash of the knights in the final tournament.

The Medieval entertainment and tournament is on Saturday, May 29 until Monday, May 31, from 11am until 5pm each day.

Admission to the event is £3 for adults (£1.50 for concessions) and this includes entry to the grounds and restored medieval towers of the castle.
