KEY Wales forwards Robin McBryde and Robert Sidoli face fitness tests to decide whether they will be available for Saturday's Six Nations Championship opener against Scotland at the Millennium Stadium.

McBryde is suffering from a back injury while Sidoli has been troubled by a groin strain which has restricted his rugby since returning from the World Cup.

Both sat out a 45-minute game played within the squad on Saturday, and will have to undergo fitness tests today ahead of the team announcement tomorrow night.

Mefin Davies is the likely replacement for McBryde if he fails to make it while Wales' most capped forward Gareth Llewellyn, who has been transfer listed by Neath-Swansea Ospreys, stands by for Sidoli.

"It's touch and go," admitted Wales coach Steve Hansen. But Hansen will not delay a decision. "There is no point hanging on, it's better to pick someone who is 100 per cent and able to prepare properly throughout the week," he said.
