OUT of the wastes of R'n'B, post-rap and 90s soul has emerged a new noise - the Waltz of the Ghetto Fly.

It's the sound of the relatively new British artist, Amp Fiddler, who is live in the Barfly, Cardiff, on Friday, April 23.

The Waltz, his album, was released earlier this year after three successful EPs.

On it he's managed to melt the years between the 70s and noughties giving his music an instant timeless quality.

Slow-burners like I Believe in You and Dreamin' could be a higher-pitched Isaac Hayes, and on more danceable moments like Superficial it's Sly Stone in a new light.

Possibilities will keep the R'n'B crowds happy with its booty swing and nicely rounded bass.

And You Played Me is so brown shades it could've been ripped from a forgotten Blaxploitation soundtrack but, and you'd better believe it, it's all real - all 21st century.

Like a made to order male take on Mary J Blige, this man is going to be big.
