IT looks as though I'll be back in the ring in the second week in February to defend my world super-middleweight title.

And then, hopefully, it will be all systems go for a world light-heavyweight title fight in April or May.

I haven't yet spoken to my promoter, Frank Warren, about opponents but it could be the February fight will be against mandatory opponent Mger Mkrtchyan whom I had to cry off against on December 6 because of 'flu.

But, after that, it will be the big one and I want it to be for a light-heavyweight title - and not because of any difficulty making the weight at super-middleweight.

Anything other than a title fight is no good to me at this stage because I need new goals, new motivations to inspire me.

I've achieved all I can at super-middleweight and I want to become the first Welsh fighter to win world titles at two different weights.

I can't see Bernard Hopkins fighting me now even if he beats William Joppy for the middleweight crown later this month.

He's not getting any younger (he's 39 in January) and he's not getting any better.

And the fact that he turned down $2million to fight me a year ago and then took $300,000 to fight Joppy shows where he's coming from.

The Joppy fight is no forgone conclusion. I'm not sure how much Hopkins has left and Joppy is not a bad fighter and is a former world champion.

I see that Robin Reid is also fighting Sven Ottke for the German's version of the world super-middleweight title next month.

It's of no interest to me really as I beat Reid a long time ago and Ottke has refused to fight me.

It will probably be another boring points win for Ottke. Reid has done nothing for a couple of years and is slow while Ottke is looking for easy pickings while I'm after rich pickings.

As for myself, I'm still feeling a bit rough at the moment, still feeling weak and drained, so it's just as well I called off the December 6 date at Cardiff Ice Rink for my latest defence of my title.

You can't take chances when things like that affect your training, though I am doing just a bit at the moment to keep things ticking over.

I'm also taking the family on holiday to Tenerife for a week shortly. It was a holiday I'd booked as a break after my title fight.

But I'll be home for a traditional Christmas with the family, the same as most people. That's how I like it.

Until next week ....
