POLICE in Cwmbran arrested two ASDA employees yesterday - but not because they have done anything wrong.
Jackie Foster and Daryl Griffiths are being held in the cells of Cwmbran Police station until their colleagues at ASDA Cwmbran have raised £500 for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.
PC Darrell Dewar said: "ASDA asked for our help in raising money for Children in Need and we were more than happy to offer our services.
"It's a great cause and they have both been behaving themselves so far." Elsewhere in Newport, Pudsey bear has been visiting schools, fire stations and even the Argus office to raise awareness about Children in Need day on November 21.
This year fundraisers will be able to take donations to any ASDA store. Sue Messenger, events co-ordinator at ASDA Newport said: "We want to raise more money this year than ever before."
