A CWMBRAN girl is set for stardom after winning a scholarship to a top London fame school.
Sixteen-year-old Charlotte Davies, pictured, of Avondale Road, will head for London next Monday to start a three-year course in dance and performance.
She will study at the exclusive London Studio Centre, which boasts star alumni such as Elizabeth Hurley.
Charlotte impressed the judges so much that she also landed a £30,000 bursary to cover school fees.
The talented youngster was also accepted for three more performing arts schools in London - Lane's Theatre Arts, Urdang Academy and Bird College.
But she opted for the London Studio Centre course because it offered higher education which she will study for in tandem with the performing arts diploma.
Charlotte said: "I've been doing musical theatre since I was three and I just love it."
And she revealed her ambitions to tread the boards in some of the world's greatest theatres. "I'd love to end up working in the West End, maybe on Chicago. But I'd also like to travel, maybe work on Broadway for a while as well," she added.
But Charlotte admitted the thought of moving to the big city was a daunting one.
"I'm a little bit nervous about leaving home for such a long time. But I have been away on summer camps before, so it's not a new experience for me.
"We get lots of holidays, so I'll be coming back to Cwmbran then, as well as some weekends."
Proud mum Suzanne said the scholarship had been vital in letting her daughter fulfil her dream of going to stage school.
She said: "Charlotte wouldn't have been able to go without the scholarship because the fees are so expensive."
Charlotte has previously danced with the National Youth Ballet and has taken part in numerous competitions and festivals.
She was a pupil at Suzanne Sims dancing school in Pontypool and also studied at Croesyceiliog Comprehensive.
* You can see Charlotte in action along with the Suzanne Sims Dance School at the Cwmbran Community Council Variety Show in the Congress Theatre, Cwmbran, from 7pm tomorrow.
The line-up also includes Totstar Demi Holborn, the Tom Williams Jazz and Blues Band, the We Are What We Are Theatre Company and Bluesy Susie.
