FINALS Day is always a highlight of the season's end at Windsor BC, and this year's event was given added significance by the presentation of a £1,400 cheque to the Ty Hafan Children's Hospice.

Ty Hafan was selected by Ladies' captain Sheila Fullbrook and club captain Alan Dudley as their charity for 2003. The £700 raised by the club was then matched by the British Amusement Trade Catering Association through the good offices of club member Paul Gunter. Pam Dodd, receiving the cheque from the two captains on behalf of Ty Hafan, expressed surprise and gratitude that so much had been raised.

Despite dire predictions from the weather forecasters, all the finalists enjoyed excellent bowling conditions and the quality of the contests reflected this.

Such was the overall standard that it would be invidious to single out any of the games for special mention.

Rather all of the finalists, winners and losers alike, deserve credit for their efforts throughout the season.

Mention must also be made of the multitude of organisers, markers, scorers and supporters who made this such a special occasion.

Winners and runners-up were presented with their trophies at tea amidst enthusiastic applause.
