ONE lucky Lottery winner in the Caerphilly county borough could be sitting on a fortune - but they only have 12 days left to claim it.
The National Lottery organisers Camelot say the owner of the winning ticket must claim the £579,701 prize by 11pm on Monday, September 1 - or lose the cash. The winning numbers were 3, 8, 12, 23, 34 and 46. But if the winner does not come forward by the deadline, then the money and the interest pass over to good causes.
Just three months ago a bid to trace the owner of another Lotto jackpot ticket, worth £1,971,095 and bought in neighbouring Torfaen, ended in failure. The Torfaen unclaimed ticket was bought in Cwmbran, Pontypool or Blaenavon on November 30. The winner had until May 29 to claim the prize, but no one came forward and money went to the Good Causes scheme.
