GWENT Dragons could have five players in the Wales squad to be coached by Dragons pair Mike Ruddock and Clive Griffiths for the game against Romania at Wrexham a week tomorrow..

In the running for places are Dragons captain Andy Marinos and Nathan Brew, both on the bench against Ireland last Saturday, as well as Ian Gough, Chris Anthony and Paul Young. Hooker Young would be a newcomer at this level.

Ruddock and Griffiths have been asked to coach the side because Steve Hanson will be tied up with games on successive Saturdays against England and Scotland.

"I was asked a while ago to help Steve out as he would have had three games in a week, and he can't be up in North Wales between two of them," said Ruddock.

"Clive and I had been involved with the A team and we said we would do it, but it will be difficult because we will have the team only for an hour or so on Saturday and Monday mornings.

"I'm delighted and honoured and will do what I can. Hopefully we'll spring a few suprises and get some on the plane to Australia."

England coach Clive Woodward changes every player from the victory in Australia, but still includes four British Lions in a side led by Jason Leonard with 103 caps. Newcomers are full back Dan Scarborough and centre Stuart Abbott.

England team: D Scarborough, J Simpson-Daniel, J Noon, S Abbott, D Luger, A King, A Gomarsall, J Leonard (captain), M Regan, J White, D Grewcock, S Shaw, M Corry, J Worsley, L Moody.

Meanwhile, Newport and Gwent Dragons prop Rod Snow has been included in Canada's World Cup squad, his third tournament. Wales face Canada in their first game in the tournament in Melbourne on October 12.
