WALES' walking wounded are well on the way to fitness thanks largely to the work of physio Mark Davies and fitness coach Andrew Hore.

The pair have been working flat out in an attempt to get Wales' six injured players back to full fitness in time for the new season.

Some may even play a part in the August internationals although it may come too soon for the crocked players.

Kevin Morgan, Hal Luscombe, Matthew Watkins, Craig Morgan, Gareth Williams and Dafydd James have all been frustrated spectators from the sidelines as the fit Welsh players have been working flat for the last three weeks in order to get themselves ready for the August internationals.

Wales take on Ireland in Dublinand Romania in Wrexham while England and Scotland visit the Millennium Stadium later in the month.

Wales fitness coach Andrew Hore said: "I'm happy with how the players have been progressing.

"They've all been working very hard and the results are starting to show. For some they have to just take it easy and it's important for them not to rush back."

Wing/centre Dafydd James is one of the wounded and the Celtic Warriors player has spoken of his frustration at sitting on the sidelines as the rest of the his international teammates prepare for next month's internationals.

He said: "It's never easy being injured but this is especially hard due to the nature of the injury.

"It's not as if I can have an operation or any treatment to help it. It's just a matter of time as that is the best healer for this shoulder problem.

"With the World Cup coming up it does play on your mind that time is running out to impress Steve Hansen, but I've just got to keep my self belief and carry on working hard."
