IT'S THE Devil's Music - but in the hands of Lightnin' Willie it sounds just plain heavenly.
The blues are back in Abertillery for the summer, with a real down-home sound, straight from Texas.
Lightnin' Willie and the Poorboys have been playing the bars and clubs of the US for no small while, and their years of gigging have given their performance plenty of polish while taking away none of their raw energy.
The LA-based band have four albums worth of material to draw upon, and their songs of life on the road, loss, fresh starts and music will touch some chords.
Musically, they combine swinging blues and R&B with a hint of rockabilly, all with the rich vocals and slide guitar that have become Willie's trademark.
Lightnin' Willie and the Poorboys play Abertillery Community Theatre tomorrow evening. Tickets are £10 and the bar opens at 7pm for an 8pm start. Box office 01495 350360. .
