ALL the pupils at a Newport school have become singing stars with the release of their own CD.

Singing Together, showcasing the talents of youngsters at Lodge Hill Infants in Caerleon, is selling like hot mince pies.

Music co-ordinator Laura Turner said each year, from the nursery up, sang songs and there also some performed by the whole school.

"There are songs there do everyday in school. Some hymns we sing in assembly, and a few Christmas songs."

Even the cover is the children's work. A competition was held for a design and the result is a mix of a few different designs, said Miss Turner.

She explained they decided to make the CD as they thought it would be a lovely experience for the pupils.

"They keeping looking on Top of the Pops to see if they are on," she said.

More than 100 copies have already been sold and some of the money comes back to the school.

Singing Together costs £10 and is available from the school.
