THE Kennedy Soundtrack reach the dizzy heights of a Newport roof top next week.

Pontypool's finest rap-rock crossover will play on top of Oneals, Dock Street, Newport on Monday, May 20 at midday.

The five-piece band will then climb down for a record signing at HMV at 1pm, all in aid of their latest single Killing Music, out the same day.

Killing Music is taken from the band's forthcoming debut album, Tale of 2 Cities, which is released on Monday, June 10.

Tale of 2 Cities and Killing Music will be released on Instant Karma, a small London- based label run by the keyboard player of the Thompson Twins!

Killing Music, backed with two songs not on Tale of 2 Cities, titled Proud and EMB, is the follow up to their Wrong Day EP which sold out its limited edition run in the week of release. It was produced by Steve Thompson, who has previously worked with Korn, Hed P.E., and The Wu Tang Clan, and recorded at Long View Farm in Mssachusetts.

The album was also produced by Steve Thompson. Sales of both will reveal whether The Kennedy Soundtrack have been a safe investment although judging by recent gigs, they probably have been.

The band played a packed Barfly in Cardiff on Friday May 10 supported by Number One Son, as part of a UK tour.

The tour has five dates left: Joiners Arms, Southampton on Saturday May 18, JB's, Dudley on Sunday May 19 and Cavern, Exeter on Monday May 20, The Garage, London on Wednesday May 22, and Rock, Birmingham on Friday May 24.
