CALDICOT bid to prevent unbeaten Welsh League Division Three leaders Dinas Powys completing a swift double tonight, writes Ray Parker.

Caldicot lost 2-1 at home and assistant player-manager Chris Lilygreen said: "We should have beaten them but gave away a stupid penalty. We were the better side on that occasion."

Winger Mark Williams may miss Caldicot's crucial clash with a hamstring injury while Lilygreen could start the game on the bench, also worried by a hamstring injury.

RTB Ebbw Vale look to ease their relegation fears when they entertain promotion-chasing Pontypridd but they face a difficult task. Victory for RTB would also be a boost for Caldicot.

However, top scorer and captain Matthew Price is missing along with partner John Caswell, both absent because of work. Left back Andrew Brown is also working.

Newport YMCA are at home to Pontyclun. They are missing a number of players, including Louis Walsh who suffered a broken bone in a foot against Troedyrhiw on Saturday.

Caerleon continue their battle to beat the drop from Division One, but it will not be easy at Maesteg Park.

Risca's Dennis Perrett scored his second goal in as many games, on target in the Welsh League Division Three 1-1 home draw with Caerau (Ely) last night. Neil Mathieson supplied the left cross for Perrett to head Risca into a half-time lead.

But Risca couldn't clinch a win, the visitors equalising courtesy of an own goal. Croesyceiliog made sure of the Gwent County League Division One title with four games to spare following a 4-1 win at Cromwell Youth, Abergavenny's slide continues from the League of Wales, through the Welsh League and has now seen them relegated from the First Division of the Gwent County League.
