TIM Harris has admitted it is "possible" that Colin Addison could return to football management as an advisor to the Newport County AFC boss.

Exiles chief Harris (pictured) revealed that he and Addison, who was axed by cash-strapped Third Division club Swansea City due to financial reasons, had an extensive meeting last week to discuss County "as a whole."

"I will not deny the fact that I had a meeting with Colin to discuss Newport County as a whole," said Harris.

"From a personal point of view, Colin and I are very close and have known each other for many years.

"Although nothing has been concluded there is a possibility that we could work together in the near future."

Harris, who is in his fifth season at Newport Stadium, is "absolutely frustrated" with County's lack on consistency on the pitch.

This inconsistency was typified over the Easter weekend when the Welshman had a superb 3-1 win at third-placed Havant and Waterlooville on Saturday before being beaten 1-0 at home to Dr Martens Premier League strugglers Hednesford Town.

The 42-year-old Newport boss says he "wants the best for Newport County" and he may feel the experienced Addison, 62, who has a wealth of footballing knowledge at all levels, could help guide him and the team through their inconsistencies.

Addison was in the County Director's Box at Easter Monday's defeat - but as a personal guest of Harris, who is still without an assistant manager after Jason Perry was axed last month.

"I just want the best for this club and will do anything it takes to get Newport County into the Conference - and if that means bringing Colin Addison or anyone else in then I will do that," said Harris.

"Sometimes things don't go according to plan, but I don't want anyone to doubt my commitment - I am as committed now as I was on day one."
