FORMER Newport rugby centre Jason White (pictured) has kicked off the new season with a cracking £100,000 signs contract.

The graphic designer, who has already seen his work displayed at the Millennium Stadium with a key directional signs contract, is now going international. Jason, aged 36, linked with business partner Dawn Fletcher to form Jasper Signs at Enterprise Park, Enterprise Way, Newport.

The business, which has been running for two years, has now landed a £100,000 contract for travel agency computer software firm Worldspan.

Worldspan has offices throughout the world and Jasper has secured the business to provide the signsfor premises in UK, Europe and North Africa.

Jason said: "Our work was spotted on an exhibition stand by agents for Worldspan who were impressed.

"The client says they are very pleased with what we have done so far and we are now hoping for repeat orders."

Jasper Signs, which started off in the main making signs for estate agencies, has boosted its staffing from four to six due to the increase in its workload and is now considering a move to larger premises.

Jason, who ran out 150 times at centre for Newport and won four B caps for Wales between 1984-1994, saw the business get off to a flying start when it landed a £50,000 contract for signs work at the Millennium Stadium two years ago.

The firm won a contract with catering firm Compass to provide signage for forty food and drink outlets at the Cardiff stadium.
