FORMER careers adviser Sandra Veasey (pictured) has joined the University of Wales College Newport as schools and colleges liaison officer.
For the past three years she has been working in careers advice and has also spent time as a counsellor, trainer and facilitator with voluntary organisations serving Wales.
Ms Veasey completed a science access course at the Univer-sity of Wales Institute Cardiff. and gained a degree in women's studies at the Univer-sity of Glamorgan. She lives in Roath, Cardiff, and lists motorcycling among her interests.
She said: "I feel that everyone should have the opportunity to access and experience higher education and I am looking forward to working with young people to encourage them to explore their potential.
"I am impressed with the high standard of tuition and the facilities at UWCN."
