A Gwent bank launched its new current account with the help of some famous faces. Barclays customers at Risca branch were all shook up after Elvis, Tony Blair and Ali G decided to call into the branch to launch the new Barclays current account.
Kath Davies, branch manager at Barclays Risca, said: "I recently met up with our customers from the Magic Wardrobe based in Risca and suggested we do something different to launch our new current account. The sight of Elvis, Tony Blair and Ali G certainly turned a few heads on the high street. The staff have started singing 'There's a guy works down the bank who swears he's Elvis'!"
Barclays is looking to shake up the current account market by offering new customers a fee and interest free promotion worth £1,000. The offer will be a fee free Additions Plus account (normally £12 per month), a £5,000 interest free overdraft and a £5,000 interest free Barclaycard for 10 months with the only stipulation that customers pay £1,000 into their account each month.
