A Gwent-based recruitment and training specialist has clinched a Top 10 spot for the first time in the UK's prestigious rankings of leading recruitment companies.
Acorn, based at Cleppa Park, near Newport, posted a record turnover of more than £38m in 2004/05.
It was named the 9th most successful recruitment agency in the UK in servicing public sector clients.
Dan Langford, group marketing and communications director, said: "This leading position demonstrates the excellent service we offer public sector clients and the level of activity we now attract as a result."
In a double boost for the company, Acorn has also moved up 10 places in the UK's consolidated list of Top 250 agencies, from 89th to 79th position, one of only a handful of companies across the UK to have jumped so many places.
Acorn is also the only Welsh agency in the Top 100, emphasising its position as the leading agency in Wales.
It has branches in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Blackwood and Wrexham.
