POLICE have just arrested a man after a six-hour siege in Newport.
Officers were called to a house on Chepstow Road at 11.20am this morning after a man, wanted in connection with another Gwent police investigation, was spotted in the area.
Armed police surrounded a house as it is believed the suspect had a firearm and a section on Chepstow Road was sealed off all afternoon.
Police have now taken down the cordon and the road is again open to traffic.
